For decades the trend for self-propelled harvesting machines
has been towards increasing handling capacity. An end to
this development is not forseeable.
Travel drive:
The travel drive of a beet lifter is mainly designed as a simple axle
drive or simple single-wheel drive. However, there are systems that
use a combination of axle and single-wheel drives.
Axle drive:
- The full tractive power is available on each wheel
- The differential lock is easy to achieve mechanically
